Before delivery
- Please make sure that you have a washable mattress protector ready to use on your new mattress, this avoids stains and smells and will keep your mattress in perfect condition. A new set of pillows will also compliment your mattress and a good night's healthy sleep.
- If you are only purchasing a new mattress, remember placing it on an old base can be false economy. Always ensure that the base is going to compliment the mattress - a hard top base will make a soft mattress feel firm.
Upon delivery
- Always read all of the manufacturer's care guides as well as the labels attached, which explain the individual characteristics and care requirements of your bed.
- After unwrapping your bed from its packaging, leave it uncovered for a few hours to allow any condensation or odour to escape. Carefully dispose of the protective polythene covers as they can pose a danger to small children.
- Initially, your mattress may be slightly shorter and narrower than the base as it may have contracted in transit. Once in use it will settle to its correct size.
- Always use a clean, washable mattress protector before fitting your bed linen.
- At first your new bed may feel strange to sleep on as the chances are that the springs and fillings on your old bed were not what they used to be. It takes time for your body to adjust to a new level of comfort and support, and also for the new fillings to settle.
